The Federal Government has launched the National Integrated Electricity Policy and Strategic Implementation Plan (NIEP-SIP) to tackle the pressing challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
The policy aims to create a robust, sustainable, and inclusive power sector that meets the aspirations of all Nigerians.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, described the policy as "critical" in achieving a sustainable power sector.
He emphasized that the policy is the result of extensive consultations with industry experts, stakeholders, and development partners.
The NIEP-SIP outlines strategic interventions across the entire electricity value chain, from generation and transmission to distribution and off-grid segments.
The policy framework responds to current realities and anticipates future needs, ensuring the power sector remains resilient and efficient.
Adelabu noted that the policy is a collaborative effort driven by a collective commitment to addressing the challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
The Federal Government hopes that this new policy will set the nation on a path toward a sustainable and inclusive power sector.
