Girls bring excitement to Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup 2024 as teams set for semi-finals

  The Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup 2024 is set for a  thrilling semi-finals stage, with the girls' teams expected to bring an exciting dimension to the competition. The boys' teams, who started from the group stage, have also been narrowed down to the last four contenders. PAOC 2024: EMURE MAINTAIN TOP SPOT

  The Emure local government U-15 team has ensured it maintained it's top spot in group A of the the ongoing Professor Akin Oyebode cup 2024. On match day two, the Engr Bayo Àjàyí boys were held to a goalless draw by Iṣẹ/Orun local government after a tough encounter. In the other group A match, Ado local government played one all draw with Ikole. As it stands Emure and Ado are both on 4 points with the former leading with 3 goal difference. This sets up a final group encounter between Ado and Emure on match day 3.

EMURE STARS SHINE BRIGHT: Make Team of the Week

CAPTAIN, EMURE U-15, JIMOH IYANU In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Emure local government's U15 team players, Jimoh Iyanu and Ogundeji Kehinde, have been selected for the Team of the Week after Match Week One of the prestigious Professor Akin Oyebode cup. Their outstanding performances helped Emure defeat Ikole 3-0 in the opening match, with Iyanu scoring from the spot and leading the team with his captain's armband.  Kehinde also scored, ensuring a convincing win for the Engineer Bayo Àjàyí boys. Also, the tactical brilliance of Emure's Chief Coach, Olanrewaju Idowu earned him the Coach of the Week award, recognizing his key role in his team's success. Emure is not the only local government with multiple players on the best 11 list, as Ado, Aiyekire, and Oye also boast two players each.  Meanwhile, Efon, Irepodun/Ifelodun, and Ikere local governments have one player each on the coveted list. PAOC2024: EMURE TOP GROUP A AFTER MATCH DAY 1

  The U-15 football team of Emure local government is leading group A of the ongoing Professor Akin Oyebode cup 2024 after match day one. Recall that the Engineer Bayo Àjàyí boya thrashed their counterparts from IKOLE local government 3-0 at the opening ceremony of the competition held at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium Ado Ekiti. The boys are presently in high spirit as they stand solidly on top of other members of group A. In other matches involving 2 other group A teams, Ado defeated Iṣẹ/Orun by lone goal. Behind Emure, Ado is second with 1 goal as against Emure's 3, but both teams are on same point. Meanwhile the team looks forward to it's next match and training continues.

Oyebode Cup 2024 Kicks Off with a Bang

  The highly anticipated Professor Akin Oyebode Cup 2024 got off to an exciting start on match day one, with some thrilling encounters and surprising results.  In Group A, Emure stunned Ikole with a 3-0 win at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado, while Ado edged out Iṣẹ/Orun 1-0. In Group B, Efon defeated Ido/Osi 2-1 at the Ijero venue, while Ekiti West thrashed Ekiti South West 3-0.  Group C saw Gbonyin and Oye share the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Ikole Township Stadium, while Ikere defeated Ekiti East 3-1 at the same venue. In Group D, the match between Ijero and Moba ended goalless, but Irepodun/Ifelodun scored 2 past Ilejemeje who failed to find the back of the net. Both matches were played at Elo high school Ayetoro-Ekiti. Overall, 18 goals were scored, with 5 teams recording victories, 4 settling for draws, and 5 clean sheet wins.  The Oyebode Cup 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting tournament!

  The opening match of the Professor Akin Oyebode Cup 2024 kicked off in grand style at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, with Emure Local Government U-15 boys emerging victorious against Ikole Local Government U-15 boys with a convincing 3-0 scoreline. The match, played under chilly weather conditions, saw Emure boys dominate the game, scoring their first goal from the penalty spot and adding a second goal in the first half.  The third goal came in the second half, securing a clean sheet victory for Emure. The event was graced by dignitaries, including representatives from the Ekiti State Government, Dr Olusola Osetoba, the technical Advisor to governor Biodun Oyebanji represented by Coach Akin Olowookere, the minority leader Ekiti state house of assembly Hon Dele Ogunsakin, Ekiti State Football Association, local football councils, parents and football fans.   The Organizing committee of the Professor Akin Oyebode cup 2024 under the lead of Pelumi Abiara has unveiled tje trophies and medals for the competition. Featuring two gongs each for the champions in the male and female categories, the unveiling is a testament to a promising competition yet to come.
