AMOTEKUN ARRESTS ADO-EKITI BEGGAR FOR THEFT, ASSAULT

  Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State - In a swift operation, Amotekun Operatives from the Oye Local Government Command arrested a 26-year-old suspect, Efoghae Friday, from Edo State, for alleged theft and assault. According to eyewitnesses, the suspect had been begging for money from passersby and motorists at Fajuyi, but turned violent when his demands were not met. He allegedly stole ₦30,000 from a roadside trader, Mrs. Tiamiyu Tosin, and bit her on the chest near the breast during a scuffle. The Amotekun Operatives were alerted and quickly apprehended the suspect, who was then transferred to the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for further investigation and necessary action. The arrest has been praised by local residents, who have expressed gratitude for the swift response of the Amotekun Operatives in maintaining law and order in the area.

TENSION IN AJIRAN COMMUNITY AS GUNMEN KILL OJOMU'S SON

  Ajiran Palace   A gruesome murder has shaken the Ajiran community in Agungi, Lekki, Lagos State, after gunmen shot and butchered Demola, the first son of Tijani Akinloye, the Ojomu of Ajiran land.  The incident occurred today along Chevron Drive, near Ebano Supermarket. The community is now deserted due to the tension sparked by the killing.  Prince Demola Akinloye A notice from a local estate management warned residents to avoid the Chevron, Agungi, and Ajiran areas for their safety. The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, was unaware of the incident but promised to provide information once available. MUSLIMS BEG GOD FOR RAIN IN OSUN

On Sunday, Chief Imam of Osogbo, Osun State, Sheikh Musa Animasaun, led a prayer session seeking divine intervention for the lack of rain in the state.  The session, lasting one hour and 30 minutes, followed a non-obligatory two-raka'at prayer led by Animasaun, also the Grand Imam of Osun State. At the Osogbo Central Eid Prayer Ground, Animasaun urged residents to continue seeking God's intervention with a pure heart to end the drought.  He cited Islamic teachings, saying, "Whenever there is a possible threat of drought, we are enjoined by Allah through His Prophet Muhammad to seek His guidance and forgiveness." Maruf Isola, Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, emphasized the need for divine intervention in his sermon.  He stated that the drought's harmful effects on residents made prayers necessary, as God assures prompt response when called upon. LASTMA Officials Fight Military Personnel Over Road Closure

A tense standoff is ongoing between officials from the Lagos Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and military personnel over the attempted closure of the busy Adeniji to Falomo Road. The dispute began at midnight, with LASTMA personnel calling for backup from the task force. According to sources, the Federal Controller of Works for Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Keisha, had requested military assistance to enforce the road closure for rehabilitation purposes. However, LASTMA officials insist that sufficient notice must be given to the public before any closure, as is customary. "The Lagos Ministry of Transportation needs to be informed in advance so that we can make a formal announcement and inform the public," a LASTMA official said. "But the Federal Controller of Works is adamant about the closure and has engaged military personnel to enforce it."
