On Sunday, Chief Imam of Osogbo, Osun State, Sheikh Musa Animasaun, led a prayer session seeking divine intervention for the lack of rain in the state.
The session, lasting one hour and 30 minutes, followed a non-obligatory two-raka'at prayer led by Animasaun, also the Grand Imam of Osun State.
At the Osogbo Central Eid Prayer Ground, Animasaun urged residents to continue seeking God's intervention with a pure heart to end the drought.
He cited Islamic teachings, saying, "Whenever there is a possible threat of drought, we are enjoined by Allah through His Prophet Muhammad to seek His guidance and forgiveness."
Maruf Isola, Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, emphasized the need for divine intervention in his sermon.
He stated that the drought's harmful effects on residents made prayers necessary, as God assures prompt response when called upon. Isola added, "Allah promises not to change our pleasure to hardship if we remain loyal. Our current situation must be caused by our actions; we have turned against God."

May God answer their prayers🙏
