Nigerians can now modify their National Identification Number (NIN) details without the hassle of queuing at National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) offices.
Ogiloskope has developed a comprehensive DIY guide to empower individuals to manage their NIN details modification from the comfort of their homes.
The NIN is a unique identifier used in various administrative processes, including accessing government services, opening bank accounts, and verifying identity.
To use the NIMC short code, ensure your phone number is linked to your NIN registration.
Here is the step-by-step guide to modifying your NIN using the shortcode:
1. Dial *346# on your mobile phone.
2. Select "NIN Modification" from the menu.
3. Enter your 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN).
4. Verify that your NIN is correct and proceed.
5. Select the modification option you want to update (e.g., name, date of birth, address).
6. Enter the new details you want to update.
7. Confirm that the new details are correct.
8. Receive a confirmation code via SMS.
9. Enter the confirmation code to complete the modification process.
10. Receive a confirmation message indicating that your NIN has been successfully updated.
Note: Modification requests are subject to verification and approval by NIMC, and you may be charged a fee for the modification service.
