RADIOGRAPHERS’ BOARD APPLAUDS COHESTI MANAGEMENT AT 1ST INDUCTION CEREMONY OF X-RAY TECHNICIANS

 

The Provost, Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adebayo has urged fresh graduands of the Institution’s Medical Image Processing X-ray Department to sustain the virtue of diligence that enabled them to succeed in the first phase of their career, as they strive to attain higher heights in their chosen profession.

Delivering an address at the first induction ceremony of newly qualified X-ray Technicians of the College, Dr. Adebayo who was represented by her Deputy, *Mr.* Kayode Abolarin noted that the Health Institution had produced thorough bred X-Ray Technicians, whom he hinted would do Nigeria and the African continent proud.

While appreciating the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria for the support rendered to the College over the years, the Provost urged Parents of the Inductees to support them in advancing their career.

In his speech, the Registrar, Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) , Prof. Mark C. Okoji, who was represented by the Board’s Director, Research and Training; Christian Onyekelu, stressed the need for the Inductees to embrace the virtue of humility, which he hinted would enable them to acquire needed knowledge from their superiors on the field.

The Board Registrar who applauded the College Management for making history, urged graduands to master the ethics guiding their conduct in the Radiography profession and abide by same, noting that there are penalties for violators of the Board’s regulations.

On his part, the Institution’s X-Ray and Imaging Science Head of Department; Chief Rufus Familoni who noted that the profession parades individuals that value precision, integrity and lifelong learning, urged the Inductees to stay curious and seek out new knowledge in order to make selves better professionals.

While lauding the Provost for providing an enabling environment that facilitated the first ever induction of X-Ray Technicians in the College, Familoni also acknowledged the dedication of the Board Registrar to the development and regulation of Radiography profession in Nigeria.

Delivering an orientation lecture at the induction ceremony, a Senior Radiographer at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital; Rad. Timothy Ugu urged Inductees to build on the knowledge already gained in the College by enrolling for further studies.

Ugu who called on graduands to get themselves accustomed to the culture of their host communities as they advance in their career advised them against sacrificing competence on the altar of money making.

High point of the ceremony was the oath-taking and presentation of practicing licenses to the inductees.
