AGBEYWA CUP: Ministry Of Education Commends Organizers, Finalists, Officials Get Colourful Kits

The four teams that will be in action on Tuesday October 29 at the finals of the second edition of Agbeyewa Ekiti Secondary schools Football Championship will be beautifully kitted.

The assurance was given by the Director of Community Engagement of Agbeyewa Foundation, Alhaji Dauda Lawal (ADL) during the official presentation of jersey to the teams that will be slugging it out in the third place and final matches.

The jersey which are of best quality and different colours were presented to officials of the teams in the presence of members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State chapter led by it's Chairman, Qozeem Oladapo.

The Director of Community Engagement who supervised the distribution of the kits said Agbeyewa Foundation was raising the bar of Sports sponsorship through branding, organization and impetus for the participants and officials.

He said the brains behind the Agbeyewa Secondary schools Football Championship have not ulterior motives while the initiative has no political coloration, rather it's aimed at gainfully engaging the teeming school pupils whom he said are quite gifted academically and skillfully.

ADL said Agbeyewa Foundation was passionate about exploring the potentials of the numerous hidden talents from the nooks and crannies of the State through football.

Also in att at the presentation of the Jersey was the Director of Sports, Ministry of Education , Mr Braimoh Idowu who applauded the Agbeyewa Foundation's passion  towards harnessing the budding talents across the State.

Mr Braimoh described the resources expended on the Agbeyewa Secondary schools Football Championship annually as unprecedented and laudable.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, he thanked the brains behind the tournament saying the State government was appreciative of the lofty investment in sports inclined young school children.

Aside the kits for the teams that will feature in the finals on Tuesday, the Referees who will be in action as well as Sports Writers who have promised to be on ground fully were also given souvenirs that included Tshirts and caps which are of superb quality.

The organizers have also reached out to major Sports stakeholders in the State who will all grace the final which promises to be colorful, glamorous and world class.

The final will be streamed live on social media and there will also be a love radio commentary while the final match is going on.

Omoyeni parts ways with Ekiti FA

  Olawale Omoyeni Resigns as Ekiti FA Media Officer Olawale Omoyeni has officially stepped down from his position as the Media Officer of the Ekiti State Football Association, as contained in a resignation letter dated January 19, 2026. In the letter addressed to the Association and the general public, Omoyeni stated that his decision was taken to enable him pursue other life opportunities and further his professional career. He expressed sincere appreciation to the Ekiti State Football Association for the privilege to serve and for the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in the state.
