Prof Akin Oyebode Cup 24: Organizers Unveil Official Kits, Announce a New Date for Grand Final

A celebration of the vibrance and excitement of players, fans and stakeholders alike, the organizers of the prestigious Prof. 

Akin Oyebode Cup 2024 have unveiled the official kits for the final, as they eagerly anticipate the day, set to take place on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti.

According to the organizers, the kit for the guests at the finals is crafted in pristine white with vibrant green prints of various sports balls and equipment, complimented by a smart and crew neck collar and matching curves adding a touch of sophistication. 

The inclusion of various sports on the dignitaries' kits signifies the sponsors' commitment and passion for the development of youth across all sports, not just football. 

This demonstrates the sponsor's, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, dedication to fostering a well-rounded sporting environment and supporting the growth of young athletes in various sports.

The organizers also introduced a stylish green cap featuring the initials "AO" - Akin Oyebode - prominently in front and a unique black and white woven pattern representing Ekiti State on the side. 

The kits for the finalists showcase a diverse range of colours and design, for comfort, style, and representative of the spirit of the competition. 

All of the player kits proudly display the brand design for the 2024 edition inscribed on the front of the tops.

The unveiling of the kits reflecting the spirit of the contemporary has generated significant excitement among football fans and players alike, as they eagerly anticipate the final match. 

The Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup is also described as a testament to the erudite professor's legacy and  commitment to education and youth development.

  Olawale Omoyeni Resigns as Ekiti FA Media Officer Olawale Omoyeni has officially stepped down from his position as the Media Officer of the Ekiti State Football Association, as contained in a resignation letter dated January 19, 2026. In the letter addressed to the Association and the general public, Omoyeni stated that his decision was taken to enable him pursue other life opportunities and further his professional career. He expressed sincere appreciation to the Ekiti State Football Association for the privilege to serve and for the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in the state.
