EKITI FIRST LADY, OYEBANJI, WINS TRAILBLAZER AWARD AT SHEROES AWARDS 2024

Ekiti State's First Lady, Associate Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to women's empowerment and sports development. 

She was awarded the Trailblazer Award at the Sheroes Awards 2024, a prestigious honor that acknowledges her visionary leadership and advocacy for women's empowerment across Africa.

The award ceremony, held at the British Nigerian Academy in Abuja, also saw two Ekiti Queens players receive the "Women of the Match" award.

Goalkeeper Comfort Dzer and Abosede Ebiesuwa were recognized for their exceptional performances in matches against Abia Angels FC and Nasarawa Amazons.

Oyebanji's commitment to empowering women and promoting sports development is evident in her role in establishing Ekiti Queens Football Club.

The club has shown resilience and togetherness, despite not recording any wins yet in the pre-season competition.

Coach Jacob Vandi expressed his appreciation for the government's support and reiterated his commitment to bringing more glory to the state through football.

Oyebanji's efforts extend beyond sports development, as she has also launched the Widows and Orphans Hope Project (WAOH) to support vulnerable members of society. 

The project aims to empower widows and orphans through education, economic support, and social welfare initiatives.

  Olawale Omoyeni Resigns as Ekiti FA Media Officer Olawale Omoyeni has officially stepped down from his position as the Media Officer of the Ekiti State Football Association, as contained in a resignation letter dated January 19, 2026.
