FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATION: Ekiti State government preaches standard coordination

 


The Ekiti state government has emphasized the importance of high professionalism among technical crews of state-owned football teams, including Ekiti United FC, its feeders team, Ekiti Queens FC, and its feeders team..

Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor on Sports to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, conveyed this message at a sensitization program held at the governor's office in Ado Ekiti, titled Skill upscaling effective team's communication and management.

During the event, Osetoba, alongside Special Assistants to the Governor on Sports, Hon. Kola Owoseni and Hon. Tunde Adesanya, mandated backroom staff members to adhere strictly to the code of conduct and maintain friendly relations with players. 

The programme featured lectures on team-match officials' relationships and management skills by Mr. Toyese Omotoye and Mr. Bello Mustapha, highlighting desired attitudes on and off the pitch for rapid team development.

In his presentation, Omotoye a professional football referee in Nigeria charged the technical crew to imbibe the culture of preparing well for matches and do a way with the must-win attitude.

On his part, Mustapha a seasoned football coach urged the state government to expedite action on improving the welfare of the players by the introduction of other incentives that will engender player development and team success.

In attendance were  chairman Ekiti state sports commission Hon Sunday Ola, HON Francis Akinlabi SSA on special trip, Alhaja Fasilat Adeshina SSA on grassroots mobilization, PFAN chairman Com Oluwole Ogunwole, SWAN VIce President South West Deji Ogunsakin and SWAN Ekiti state Chairman Qozeem Oladapo.

Others are technical crew members, players representatives, the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (Ekiti state chapter), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (Ekiti state chapter), and supporters' clubs, among others. 

This initiative aims to promote excellence and accountability within Ekiti's football teams.

Omoyeni parts ways with Ekiti FA

  Olawale Omoyeni Resigns as Ekiti FA Media Officer Olawale Omoyeni has officially stepped down from his position as the Media Officer of the Ekiti State Football Association, as contained in a resignation letter dated January 19, 2026. In the letter addressed to the Association and the general public, Omoyeni stated that his decision was taken to enable him pursue other life opportunities and further his professional career. He expressed sincere appreciation to the Ekiti State Football Association for the privilege to serve and for the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in the state. Omoyeni also wished the football family in Ekiti State sustained success under the leadership of Aare Oluwole Oloworemo and thanked all stakeholders for their support during his tenure.
