The Ekiti State Government has established a feeders team for the state-owned Ekiti Queens Football Club, aimed at promoting women's football and developing young talent.
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has identified sports as a vital tool for youth development and is committed to creating opportunities for talented young athletes to succeed.
The feeders team will provide a platform for indigenous female footballers to hone their skills and pursue professional careers.
According to Dr. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor for Sports Development, the feeders team will focus on developing a long-term plan to produce accomplished and professional female footballers. The team will also serve as a showcase for young players to attract marketing opportunities.
The feeders team is open to female footballers between the ages of 15 and 18, who will receive a monthly stipend.
