EKITI STATE GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES FEEDERS TEAM FOR EKITI QUEENS FC

 

The Ekiti State Government has established a feeders team for the state-owned Ekiti Queens Football Club, aimed at promoting women's football and developing young talent.

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has identified sports as a vital tool for youth development and is committed to creating opportunities for talented young athletes to succeed. 

The feeders team will provide a platform for indigenous female footballers to hone their skills and pursue professional careers.

According to Dr. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor for Sports Development, the feeders team will focus on developing a long-term plan to produce accomplished and professional female footballers. The team will also serve as a showcase for young players to attract marketing opportunities.

The feeders team is open to female footballers between the ages of 15 and 18, who will receive a monthly stipend. 

This initiative demonstrates the state government's commitment to empowering young women through sports.

The establishment of the feeders team is expected to have a positive impact on women's football in Ekiti State, increasing participation and providing opportunities for young female athletes to succeed. This move aligns with Governor Oyebanji's vision for sports development and youth empowerment.

With the launch of the Ekiti Queens Feeders Team, the state government reaffirms its dedication to promoting sports and empowering young people. As the team begins its journey, fans and stakeholders eagerly anticipate the emergence of talented young female footballers who will make Ekiti State proud.

In the letter addressed to the Association and the general public, Omoyeni stated that his decision was taken to enable him pursue other life opportunities and further his professional career.
