Governor Biodun Oyebanji Calls on Ekiti Citizens to Rally Behind Ekiti Queens in Season Opener

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has extended an open invitation to all football fans and residents of the state to gather at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, on Wednesday, at 4:00 PM. 

The event marks the first match of the season for Ekiti Queens Football Club, who will face off against Heartland Queens from Imo State in the Nigeria Women Football League.



Speaking on behalf of the governor, Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, emphasized the importance of a strong home crowd.

"The governor deeply appreciates the unwavering support of Ekiti citizens. Your presence in the stands is not just about cheering; it serves as a morale booster for the team and can significantly influence the outcome of the game," she stated during an exclusive interaction with our reporter.

The governor’s administration has consistently championed sports as a tool for youth development, unity, and empowerment. This invitation underscores the government's commitment to supporting local talent and promoting sportsmanship within the state.

Fans are encouraged to come out in their numbers, clad in the state’s colors, to show their solidarity with the Ekiti Queens. 

The match promises to be a thrilling start to the season, with Ekiti Queens determined to make a strong statement on their home turf.

All eyes will be on the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium this Wednesday as the passion for football and the pride of Ekiti unite in a show of strength and community spirit.
