Ultimate Premier League 2024/25 Kicks Off January 31 with 12 Teams

 


The much-anticipated 2024/2025 season of the Ultimate Premier League (UPL) is set to begin on January 31, 2025. 

The opening match will feature an exciting showdown between defending champions Gateway FA and newcomers ABUAD Staff FC at the ABUAD Football Pitch in Ado-Ekiti.

With 12 private teams competing and 132 matches scheduled across multiple venues, this season promises to be action-packed. 

Football fans will enjoy live broadcasts of all games on the league’s official YouTube and Facebook channels, bringing the excitement to a broader audience.

This year’s league introduces a groundbreaking addition—the Ultimate League Premier U15. 

This initiative aims to nurture young talent in the region by offering U15 players from various academies a platform to showcase their skills and gain exposure. 

It underscores the league’s commitment to developing football at all levels in Ekiti State.

The tournament, which has the backing of the Ekiti State Football Association, also partners with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ekiti State chapter, for extensive media coverage. 

Football enthusiasts are encouraged to brace themselves for a season filled with thrilling performances from experienced players and emerging stars alike.

  Olawale Omoyeni Resigns as Ekiti FA Media Officer Olawale Omoyeni has officially stepped down from his position as the Media Officer of the Ekiti State Football Association, as contained in a resignation letter dated January 19, 2026. In the letter addressed to the Association and the general public, Omoyeni stated that his decision was taken to enable him pursue other life opportunities and further his professional career. He expressed sincere appreciation to the Ekiti State Football Association for the privilege to serve and for the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in the state.
