Journalist Advocates for Better Care for Children with Disabilities

A prominent journalist in Ekiti State, Comrade Rotimi Feyisina, has called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to extend their support to vulnerable children, especially those with disabilities.

Feyisina made this passionate appeal during his visit to ONAOPEMIPO Centre for Children and Youths with Special Needs in Iwaro Quarters, Ado-Ekiti, as part of activities to commemorate his birthday.

During the visit, Feyisina presented material and cash donations to the Centre.

Moved by the plight of the children, he urged the government, philanthropists, and members of the public to provide assistance to improve their living conditions.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the children, the founders of the Home, Pastor and Mrs. Ojo Olumide, expressed  gratitude to Feyisina for his kind gesture.

They also encouraged other members of society to follow his example by contributing towards the welfare of children with disabilities.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the Centre, the founders noted that the cost of physiotherapy, feeding, suitable accommodation, and basic education for the children remain major concerns.

They emphasized the need for urgent support to complete the structure accommodating the children and to meet their basic needs.

The ONAOPEMIPO Centre for Children and Youths with Special Needs was recognized by the Ekiti State Government last year as one of the leading NGOs supporting children with disabilities.

However, the institution continues to require significant assistance to sustain its operations.

For those willing to support the Centre, donations can be made through the following bank account: 2143914091, UBA, Onaopemipo Centre for Children and Youths with Special Needs. The founders can also be reached via phone at 08163601444.

This call to action serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to ensure that children with disabilities receive the care and support they deserve.
