During his visit, the governor assessed the progress of the stadium's upgrade, including the recently delivered AstroTurf factory-made grasses.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to using sports as a tool for wealth creation and human capital development.

"We will use sports to create wealth as part of this administration's promise of human capital development. This can be achieved by putting in place structures that allow you to exhibit your talents," Governor Oyebanji stated.

He assured athletes and sports stakeholders that the state government would complete the construction of the already started sports hall which is worth over ₦7.1 billion before the end of his tenure.

Recalling his first visit to the stadium, the governor expressed dissatisfaction with the outdated training facilities, promising that such conditions were now a thing of the past.

"The facilities will meet professional standards. I commend the contractors for their work, and I am proud of Ekiti Queens and Ekiti United. Do not worry; your welfare is my priority. Stay diligent and focused, as we will continue to meet your aspirations," he added.

Governor Oyebanji also praised the Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, for his role as one of the brains behind the ideas driving sports development in the state.

Accompanied by Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, as well as Special Assistants Hon. Kola Owoseni and Hon. Tunde Adesanya, the governor toured the stadium to inspect the progress of renovation efforts.

The event highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure in Ekiti, with the aim of fostering talent and improving the state's standing in national and international competitions.
