OYEBANJI EXPOSES COMMISSIONER FOR FINANCE

The Unseen Architect: Governor Oyebanji Extols Akintunde Oyebode as Champion of Sports Development in Ekiti

(R-L)Hon Akintunde and Governor Oyebanji

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has publicly acknowledged the Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode for his significant contributions to sports development, confirming what many, including myself, have observed.

In a recent conversation with Pelumi Abiara  about the key figures in the Oyebanji administration, I highlighted Hon. Oyebode's dedication to sports, despite his primary focus on state finances. Pelumi, though not present in the state but with a heart for the sector's development, affirmed my notion with a succinct, "expected."

Governor Oyebanji's recent remarks during a visit to Oluyemi Kayode Stadium validated this observation.

Hon. Oyebode, a well-educated and widely traveled individual, possesses a clear vision for sports development in Ekiti State. His passion extends beyond his official duties, a fact evident to anyone who has engaged with him.

Governor Oyebanji stated, "You are lucky to have a commissioner for finance who understands sports. Hon. Oyebode may not be here, but I can tell you he is one of the brains behind everything you see."

No wonder, the technical advisor on sports development to governor Dr Mrs Olusola Osetoba will always sing the praise of the Honourable commissioner for finance.

This recognition is well-deserved. The Oyebode family's longstanding commitment to sports is exemplified by their annual football competition in honour of Prof. Oyebode.

Former Ekiti FA Chairman, Bayo Olanlege Bayo-lanlege, and others can attest to the tournament's positive impact. Pelumi Abiara and I were also involved in last year's edition, with Pelumi as chairman and myself as secretary of the organizing committee.

For a governor to publicly credit his finance commissioner as a key driver of sports development is a testament to Hon. Oyebode's influence.

Hon. Oyebode, your dedication to progress is commendable. Your contributions are recognized, and your legacy will endure.
