Ekiti Queens FC settled for a 1–1 draw against visiting Adamawa Queens FC at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, in a match that left the home supporters deeply disappointed after witnessing several missed chances and late tension across the stands.
The game opened with strong intent from Ekiti Queens, who held the early momentum and pressed aggressively in search of a breakthrough against a determined defensive line.
Throughout the first half, Ekiti Queens controlled possession and created a series of promising openings, producing more than ten shots on target, although none of those efforts succeeded in beating the Adamawa Queens goalkeeper, who maintained remarkable composure under constant pressure from repeated waves of attack by the home side.
The visitors improved their rhythm after the restart and capitalised on a moment of hesitation when an Adamawa Queens attacker lifted a calm lob over the Ekiti Queens goalkeeper, who had advanced too far from her position, giving the visiting side a 1–0 advantage and raising the anxiety of the home crowd as the minutes continued to slip away.
As tension increased inside the stadium, Ekiti Queens pushed forward in search of an equaliser, and their persistence was rewarded when a defensive mix-up in the Adamawa Queens backline resulted in an own goal that brought the score to 1–1, restoring hope but leaving little time for a complete turnaround before the referee ended the contest.
With this result coming after their opening-day defeat to Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens now remain on a single point after two match days and will look to regroup as they prepare to host Edo Queens on December 12, in a fixture that already carries added importance for their early-season campaign.
