Elemure Demands House of Reps Seat for Emure, Vows End to Political Marginalisation

Oba Ajiboye

The Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba James Ajiboye Otutubiosun I, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to safeguarding the political interests of Emure Kingdom, stressing the need for equal representation and active participation in governance for the people of the community.

The royal father made this known during a strategic meeting with youths of Emure at his palace, facilitated by the Technical Advisor on Sports Development to the governor Dr Mrs Olusola Osetoba and Engineer BAYO AJAYI where he emphasized unity, political consciousness, and purposeful engagement ahead of the next political disspensation.

Oba Ajiboye disclosed that he has firmly insisted that an indigene of Emure must be presented to represent the Emure/Gbonyin/Ekiti East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, noting that the town deserves a fair share in leadership and decision-making at the federal level.

He maintained that Emure would no longer remain on the sidelines of politics, urging residents to move away from what he described as “hand-to-mouth politics” and instead pursue opportunities, overcome challenges, and take charge of their political destiny.

Before meeting with the Kabiyesi Dr Osetoba and Engineer AJAYI cautioned the youths against hooliganism, charging them to follow the structure that has been laid down which put the government backed NYC above other youths organizations.

The meeting was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Technical Adviser on Sports Development to the Governor, Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba; Engineer Bayo Ajayi; and other pioneer youth leaders, alongside representatives of key youth organisations such as the Nigerian Youth Congress (Emure LGA Chapter) led by Oluwafemi Babalola, the Emure Youth Forum led by Moyinoluwa Charles, and the State Youth Parliament representative, Mayowa Adedayo, among others.
