17 Offenders Sentenced for Violating Ekiti Sanitation Laws as Government Lauds Compliance

  A Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has sentenced 17 individuals to one month of community service for violating Ekiti State’s Environmental Health and Sanitation Laws during the recent January sanitation exercise.  Magistrate Olubunmi Bamidele, who presided over the case, offered the offenders an alternative fine of N5,000. In her ruling, she highlighted the public health risks posed by neglecting sanitation guidelines and stressed the importance of adherence to environmental safety protocols.  Eleven other suspects were discharged after their cases were reviewed by the court. Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Government has praised the high level of compliance recorded during the January sanitation exercise.
